Samaritan Children`s Home

Samaritan is a children's home mainly for children whose mothers are in prison.
The Minister of Health officially opened it in November 1985. The child stays at the samaritan home until the mother is released or until further arrangements have been made with their relatives. We work very closely with the District Children's department who also refer the children of various backgrounds to our Homes. Every child staying at our homes is brought to our custody by the juvenile court, Police, Women's prison or Children's district department for their best protection.

We, therefore have children from various backgrounds: We have abandoned children, street children, sexually and physically abused children etc.
The most important thing is to give them a loving caring environment to grow up in.
Samaritan has a capacity of hosting about 50 children depending on the age group and is located at Ongata Rongai.
The home administrator is Emmah Mwangi supported by a hard working team.
